On a score of 90 points, Fildes has a huge advantage over Derek Cunneely on 62 points.

The points scoring is 15, 12, 10, eight, six down to one for 10th, and, whilst Fildes is in a virtually unassailable position, the battle for second is wide open between Cunneely, David Donegan (56), Brian Donegan (54), Rod McGovern (52), last year's winner Johnny Whelan (48) and Mark Turley (44).

Also racing at Brands Hatch are Northern Ireland drivers Adam Carroll, Steven Kane and Gary Turkington who are expected to mount strong team and individual challenges in the Formula Ford Festival.
