FAI Cup: Junior club Fairview Rangers caused a sensation when they inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Dublin City in the FAI Cup at the Fairgreen yesterday.

The Limerick-based National Junior Cup champions went ahead from a Jason Purcell penalty in 15 minutes, which was cancelled out eight minutes later by Derek McCarthy.

Fairview survived a battering from Dublin on the changeover, to regain the lead 2-1 on 68 minutes from Paul Harmon and Barry Heffernan chipped in with a brace.
