FAI Cup: Quarter-final preview

DERRY CITY v ST PATRICK'S ATHLETIC (Brandywell, 7

DERRY CITY v ST PATRICK'S ATHLETIC (Brandywell, 7.45): In-from Derry, buoyed by their win over the same opposition last week, are again at home to the physically and mentally resourceful St Patrick's whose defeat last week was their first to domestic opposition since January.

"We have turned the corner results wise," says Derry manager Kevin Mahon after two successive league wins, "but we have been playing quite well generally."

While St Patrick's have the resources to change things tactically after last week's reverse, Mahon says he hasn't got that luxury, as he has five players - Tommy McCallion, Padraig Moran, Joe Harkin, Gareth Mullen and Floyd Gilmour - out injured while it's uncertain whether Liam Coyle will be fit.

"I don't agree we have the psychological edge after beating them last week. St Pat's are a very experienced and talented team," adds Mahon. "We have the same panel, whereas Pats have the opportunity to change it around."
