PAT EDDERY, linked with the Oaks winner Lady Carla, will ride former Derby contender King Alex in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot next week.
With Kieren Fallon expected to be aboard Dushyantor, the champion jockey left the mount on the filly up for grabs by accepting an offer from Roger Charlton.
King Alex, like Lady Carla owned by Wafic Said, is one of two Eddery will partner for Charlton. He opens the meeting on Wixim in the Queen Anne Stakes.
Eddery has a strong book of rides that already includes 2,000 Guineas third Poteen in the St James's Palace Stakes and Celeric in the Ascot Gold Cup.
Riding plans for Michael Kinane, have still to be finalised. But he will partner Breeders' Cup winner Pilsudski in the Hardwicke Stakes if the ground is suitable.
