Limerick 2-14 Cork 0-12:LIMERICK CAUSED an upset when they had a comfortable eight-point win against Cork at the Gaelic Grounds. A superbly struck goal by Brendan O'Connor five minutes from the end clinched the win against a Cork side who disappointed when scoring only four points from play.

Shane Dowling, out of the action for 21 minutes of the first half, scored six points for Limerick, five from frees while corner forward Jack Ahern scored 1-2 in the first half with both points being splendid efforts.

Limerick conceded the opening point but once Dowling had three quick points from frees the home side never looked back and could have won by more but for conceding so many frees which Rob O’Shea capitalised on by scoring seven.

Also at Tralee: Clare 6-24, Kerry 1-8.
