Leinster MFC Dublin 4-11 Louth 0-5  DUBLIN PUT last weeks disappointing display against Kildare behind them with a comfortable victory over Louth at Parnell Park on Saturday afternoon.

With the sides level at 0-2 apiece, Dublin pounced for the opening goal on seven minutes when Donagh McCabe found Fearghal Duffy in acres of space and the centre forward finished past Kevin Brennan.

Duffy inadvertently returned the compliment in the 18th minute when his point attempt came back off Brennans left-hand upright and McCabe was on hand to crash home to give the home side an eight-point advantage.

With Peter OCurry giving an exhibition of catching in midfield, Dublin continued to monopolise possession and points from Ciarán Kilkenny and Adam Caffrey left Louth reeling at the break as they trailed by 2-6 to 0-3.

Matters failed to improve for the visitors upon the resumption and after Kilkenny had added three consecutive points, corner forward Seán Stewart left Anthony Williams and Shane McMahon in his wake before calmly slipping the ball to the net on 42 minutes.

Kilkenny added a fourth Dublin goal three minutes later when he collected Jake Russell Carroll’s delivery and his finish to the net matched Stewart’s in the calmness of its execution.

With manager Val Andrews making a raft of substitutions, the final 10 minutes lacked the required intensity and Louth gave their suffering supporters some reason for cheer with frees from Donal Grimes and Paudi Clarke but they proved of little significance as Dublin strolled through to a quarter-final final encounter with Kildare on the 22nd May.
