Dublin 1-16 Monaghan 0-8:DUBLIN ARE into the minor semi-final after easing to victory at Páirc Esler in Newry yesterday.
Dublin began with five unanswered points, left half back Eric Lowndes, midfielder Shane Carthy and Cormac Costello all finding the range. Costello edged them further in front before the Ulster runners-up finally opened their account after 20 minutes through captain Pádraic Keenan’s free.
James McElroy added a point but Dublin responded with points from Dave Campbell and Costello to lead 0-7 to 0-2 at the break.
There was no let up from Dublin on the restart, with Gavin Burke hitting a trio of points and Carthy and Niall Walsh on target as well.
In the 44th minute Costello set up a goal for Stephen Cunningham and there was no way back for Monaghan.
