MUNSTER SCHOOLS' SENIOR CUP PBC 13 Glenstal Abbey 11:PBC WERE rewarded for their amazing comeback a week ago which forced yesterday's replay at Clifford Park, where they defeated Glenstal Abbey to qualify for the semi-finals.

Although the game was far removed from the six-try thriller of the drawn contest, it still provided two great tries and when Glenstal scored theirs three minutes from the end of normal time Luke Bradley had a chance to take the game to extra-time. But the try was scored only a few metres in from the touchline and the conversion attempt was well off-target.

Glenstal took the lead thanks to a wind-assisted Bradley penalty from the halfway line after 25 minutes. He had earlier been short with a similar effort.

The Cork side drew level a minute before the interval when Rory Scannell kicked a penalty from in front of the posts.

Another penalty by Bradley four minutes into the second half edged Glenstal back in front but they lost the lead again four minutes later.

Scannell made a break and his short pass sent Séamus Glynn racing in from the ‘22’ and Scannell converted. Glenstal piled on the pressure and were rewarded with the late superbly-taken try.

Outhalf Bradley timed his cross-kick to perfection for winger Rob Shanahan to gather and score.
