RICHARD DUNWOODY was yesterday looking forward to making his debut in the unique Velka Pardubicka in the Czech Republic on Sunday. He will be teaming up with Its A Snip in the famous four-and-a-quarter-mile contest over 31 daunting obstacles.

"Hopefully I should have a good ride on Its A Snip who won last year under Charlie Mann and finished second the previous year," said the former champion jockey.

"Norman Williamson will be on Irish Stamp for Ferdy Murphy and Veleda runs for Sue Bramall. I have never ridden in it before and it should be quite an exciting race.

"I have ridden in Germany, at Baden-Baden and Hanover, where they have a similar sort of fences which are quite different to those in Britain with taxis, double banks and water ditches."

Dunwoody will be hoping for better luck than he enjoyed at Wincanton yesterday afternoon. Kesanta, his only mount of the day, was sent off joint-favourite for the opening mares' maiden hurdle but fell at the second-last flight.

. Jockey Kieran Gaule was yesterday afternoon banned for four days by the Wincanton stewards for improper riding.
