CLARE proved too strong for Limerick in a one sided Munster under 21 football championship semi final at Askeaton last night.

Two points from Kenneth Hynes in the first three minutes set the tone for the match. Hynes and Joe Considine, who dominated midfield, were instrumental in Clare's win. By half time, Clare led by five points to three.

Limerick hopes of a comeback were dashed 10 minutes into the second half when Hynes scored Clare's goal. Behind by 1-8 to 0-3, they staged something of a rally and were rewarded with a goal two minutes from the end by Albert Shanahan.
