Dublin football manager Paul Caffrey has been handed a one-match touchline ban, which he will serve at the start of next year's championship, as punishment for an altercation with Mayo selector John Morrison before the All-Ireland football semi-final on August 27th.

The ban comes after a meeting of the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday night which also saw the Dublin county board fined a total of €1,100 for breaching three match-day regulations.

This included taking the field two minutes late for the start of the game, standing for Amhrán na bhFiann with arms interlocked and using four water carriers.

Although the Mayo management and county board received no suspensions or fines, Morrison was admonished for leaving his seat in the final minutes of the game and encouraging supporters in the Hogan Stand to become more vocal.

Mayo were also warned about their future conduct regarding the use of water carriers to transport instructions from manager Mickey Moran to the players during breaks in play.

Meanwhile, surprise package Armagh will be hoping to reach the women's senior football championship final today, when they take on Galway at Hyde Park.

The Ulster side only made the step up from the junior ranks this season, but have already claimed the Ulster title this summer.
