Michael Hills predicted "a bright future" for Brown Eyes after the filly took the EBF Douglas Maiden for his trainer father Barry at Salisbury yesterday.

The Danehill filly made much of the running before showing plenty of grit in the closing stages to fend off Sir Michael Stoute's newcomer Mount Street by a length and a half.

On a good afternoon for the Hills family, Michael's brother Richard earlier collected a double when taking both divisions of the Booker Premier Stores and Happy Shopper Maiden Stakeson Elsundus and Bintalbawardi.

John Gosden's Elsundus had obviously been doing things nicely at home as he was sent off 11 to 8 favourite for his debut in Division One of the race and the support proved spot-on as he made every yard of the running to thrash Claretelle by seven lengths.

The jockey went on the take the second division aboard the Marcus Tregoning-trained Bintalbawardi, also owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum.
