Enniskillen Gaels advanced to the semi-final of the Ulster championship, recording a two-point success over Rostrevor at Brewster Park yesterday.
For most of the first hour Enniskillen looked the better side, but they suffered a blow in the 17th minute when Stephen Caulfield drilled home a penalty goal for Rostrevor. However, at the break the teams were level, 1-4 to 0-7, with midfielder Tom Brewster shooting four of the Enniskillen points. Brewster scored three more in a lowscoring second half which saw the Enniskillen defence produce a tremendous display that restricted the opposition to a single score. Five minutes from time a flare-up saw three players sent off, two from the home team.
