MAGNERS LEAGUE:CONNACHT COACH Michael Bradley has issued a "call to arms" for supporters to come out and get behind his side in Friday's Magners League clash against Ulster (8pm).

He said that this encounter was an opportunity for Connacht to lay down a marker in their bid to qualify for the Heineken Cup for the first time.

Connacht will need to finish above one of the other three Irish sides or else win the European Challenge Cup if they are to finally make it to the Heineken Cup.

“This is a massive match for us. Ulster and ourselves, if it goes to form, are likely to be competing for the third qualifying spot for the Heineken Cup.

“The crowd made a huge difference for us last week against Cardiff and I suppose this is a call to arms for people to get out and fill the Sportsground on Friday and help Connacht rugby get a positive result.

“It would be a huge result for us,” added Bradley, whose side got off the mark last weekend with an 18-16 win over Cardiff Blues.

Bradley, whose side had two men sinbinned in each of the opening defeats against Ospreys and Edinburgh, praised his players for their discipline against the Blues.

“The improvement in discipline and a very strong defence – Cardiff were restricted to four line busts – were the reasons for the win and we will be looking for more of the same this Friday,” he added.
