The days have gone, thankfully, when instruction manuals featured a series of photographs with a golfer in the middle of a swing. Take a new book SUPERGOLF - Set Up, Swing and Shotmaking Secrets published by HarperCollins (£18.99 sterling) which also features humorous tales and anecdotes as well as biographical details of the players featured in the book.

Authors Rick Grayson and John Andrisani delve into each element of what makes the perfect player and, also, take a look at some of the magical shots conjured up by such as JoseMaria Olazabal, Laura Davies, Nick Faldo, Fred Couples, John Daly and Ernie Els.

A paperback new to the market also deals with instruction and, aptly enough, is called simply The Golf Swing, published by CollinsWillow and priced at £9.99 sterling. Golf writer John Huggan and guru David Leadbetter joined forces to produce this book.
