SAILING:Olympic hopefuls Ger Owens and Scott Flanigan had another positive performance during the second day of the 470 World Championships in Barcelona.
The pair recovered well following some poor first mark roundings to score 11, 9 and 10 in the three races of the day, which featured some fast sailing with 16-18 knots of wind.
The 94 boats in the championship will have two more races today before they split the fleet. This event serves as the last opportunity to qualify for London 2012.
In Cornwall another Irish sailor, Ross Hamilton, was also competing on the second day of his Olympic qualification.

Hamilton is sailing in the Finn class and placed 45th and 58th in his two races of the day. He currently lies 53rd overall.
