A Rangers stroll

Rangers crushed Austrian side Sturm Graz to fire a five-goal Champions League warning to the rest of Europe

Rangers crushed Austrian side Sturm Graz to fire a five-goal Champions League warning to the rest of Europe. Goals from Michael Mols, Ronald de Boer, Jorg Albertz, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Billy Dodds will give Group D rivals Galatasaray and Monaco plenty to think about.

Rangers could have made the victory even more emphatic but Albertz missed a penalty.

Michael Mols netted one of the easiest goals of his career to give Rangers the lead on 10 minutes. De Boer got the better of the Graz defence on the byline to set up the striker right in front of goal.

Rangers took a huge grip of the game before it was 20 minutes old with another goal, with de Boer the scorer.

Albertz then made no mistake when he hammered the ball home for the third.

De Boer surged forward in the 72nd minute and slipped the ball into van Bronckhorst's path for a low shot into the corner of the net for the fourth goal.

With five minutes to go Dodds made it 5-0 with a sublime chip over Schicklgruber after he had escaped the attentions of Franco Foda.
