What students need to know about their accommodation in 2018
Do you know enough about your accommodation options to make the smartest decision?
Uninest Student Residences are a totally new concept for Ireland. We create communities unlike any other because our facilities and services are entirely tailored to the needs of the modern student. They provide hassle-free, safe living in high quality accommodation in prime locations with an all-inclusive price.
Their first-class shared facilities - including gyms, cinemas, study spaces, outdoor seating areas and communal eating areas - are all designed to encourage integration between residents; a fundamental part of the university experience.
Furthermore, residence teams are on-hand 24/7, be it for general assistance at reception, security, housekeeping or on-site maintenance, allowing students to focus on their studies and settling in. Clearly these levels of service and amenities are a world away from what was offered even 10 years ago, but modern student requirements have changed significantly over the last decade and Uninest Student Residences are tailored to suit these needs.
Their ‘all-inclusive’ rates cover all utilities as well as the use of various amenities including gyms, study rooms, cinema rooms, social and recreational spaces. Students won’t have to wait for broadband connections either – it’s ready and waiting from the moment they walk through the door. This pricing model is used to take the hassle out of accommodation, as when students move to university they have a lot on their plate; settling into a new city, keeping up with their studies and making new friends.
During CAO rooms sell fast. With this in mind, Uninest Student Residences have open days across three of their Dublin residences; Ardcairn House, The Tannery and New Mill from the 15th of August to the 31st of August, between 10am and 5pm. These open days offer the chance for parents and students to pop in (no need to book an appointment) and view our rooms and facilities for themselves. For those unable to physically visit their fantastic residences, Uninest also offer a skype viewing service.
Uninest’s parent company, GSA, has invested heavily in the Irish market over the last few years. Thanks to their internationally recognised academic institutions, Dublin and Cork are increasingly attracting the best students in the world and it’s important that there is the necessary accommodation which caters to their needs.
Uninest currently operates three residences in Dublin but is due to open two more in the capital and launch its first development in Cork ahead of the 2018/19 academic year. In addition, Uninest will add two more sites to its Dublin portfolio in 2019 and one more in Cork in 2020.

Uninest believes that students should never underestimate the importance of their accommodation; it’s vital that you choose the right place for you. In order to do this, it’s worth pulling together a list of your accommodation priorities. Is the proximity to your university, or the vicinity to the city centre, bars and shopping most important? Or are you more concerned about the social activities available and the opportunities to mingle with new people? Or is the accommodation quality and facilities available key for you?
It’s also worth looking beyond the price of the options available. Does the price include utility bills, for example, and how will the location of the accommodation you’re looking at impact your potential travel costs to the city centre and university?
Finally, be as proactive as you can. Approach student residences directly to discuss options available and get on their mailing lists. The more options you have the better, so making enquiries early will pay dividends.
