Where are the insects?

A chara, – Damian White (Letters, September 15th) need not worry about the lack of insects in Dublin over the summer. Like other Dubliners, they staycationed on the Wild Atlantic Way. I can confirm that bluebottles, hornets, flies, wasps, bees, moths, dragonflies, daddy long legs, moths, butterflies and other insects beyond my powers of identification congregated in numbers never seen before around the windows and lightbulbs of the homes of Donegal.

Midges, however, were in short supply. – Yours, etc,

AISLING FOLEY,

Mount Merrion,

Co Dublin.
