Sir, - It was a huge relief when the burden of the Fianna Fáil government was lifted from our shoulders. I hoped (naively) that a new government would usher in a new era of government culture which would incorporate competence and integrity as a norm. How wrong could I be?
Martyn Turner's brilliant cartoon (November 23rd) on the betrayal of trust by institutions captures the public view brilliantly, a view which politicians just do not seem to recognise.
