Truck driver protest

Sir, – I hope it’s not just me who can see the idiocy of driving fuel-hungry trucks on an optional trip to Dublin to protest against the cost of fuel?

Common sense (and carbon emissions) would have been better served if the drivers had taken public transport to Dublin yesterday and marched through the city to the Dáil.

If this is the best their leadership can come up with, I see no likelihood of success in their campaign. – Yours, etc,
