TRAVELLERS' PATHS

Sir, - I don't live in Knocklyon, but do use the cycleway everyday. In my experience, the cycleway has never been blocked by Travellers but has been blocked by cars parked by residents and Tyming Park users.

Ms Maureen Nevile, in her letter, states that the Traveller moving the boulder was doing so to make room for his van and not to block the cycleway. This caravan (there is only one along this stretch) is not beside the cyclepath, but the footpath. (Why was Ms Nevile cycling here?) The van in question is usually parked on the curb side of the footpath (and was there last week when I went by) and never blocks the way for pedestrians (although the child's bike can cause an obstruction at times!!)

Thankfully, the council in its wisdom did place boulders here. The three other caravans that were resident did block the footpath with various bits and pieces, and did destroy the small patch of greenery. - Yours, etc.,

Dundrum,
