The politics of contradiction

Sir, – Sinn Féin objects to the DUP supporting the government in the UK, given that government’s role under the Belfast Agreement. Simultaneously it has no difficulty in seeking to get into government in this country, notwithstanding the Irish government’s similar role under the same agreement.

Meanwhile a delegation of Sinn Féin Westminster MPs campaign for speaking rights in a parliament to which they have not been elected, while refusing to avail of speaking rights in a parliament to which they have been elected. – Yours, etc,

DFM DUFFY,

Cabinteely,

Dublin 18.
