Sir, - This week I received a "customer charter" from Telecom Eireann in the post. On flicking through it, I discovered that in the event of my phone not working for two working days, I could "claim a credit of IRP 10 on my rental account".
Fortuitous, I thought, as my two phones and my fax machine had not worked from Friday, 12 noon, to Monday, 12 noon. As advised, I rang 191 and was put on to another number.
I was told: "At Telecom we finish work at 4 pm on Friday. Saturday and Sunday do not count as working days". So no refund. Today is Wednesday, and my phones have just stopped working again!!!! - Yours, etc.,
