Madam, - In the light of Brian Kerr's recent initiative to improve the atmosphere at Landsdowne Road, something must be done about the booing of Rangers players during international matches. It is irrelevant and ignorant - and the kind of behaviour that will erode the goodwill our fans have built up over the years. - Yours, etc.,

Madam, - The Irish Times carried several reports on our soccer match against Georgia on Wednesday night. To my surprise, none mentioned the morons in the crowd who continue to barrack and boo every foreign player who plays for Glasgow Rangers.
Supporters of a foreign team (Glasgow Celtic) are spewing out sick hatred at our home games. This is raw sectarianism, imported from abroad, and it is unacceptable that your reporters ignore it. They have a duty to report what they see and hear, and to shame the bigots. - Yours, etc.,

Madam, - If Robbie Keane chose to move to Glasgow Rangers in pursuit of Champions League football, would he also be booed and jeered by home fans every time he played for Ireland at Lansdowne Road? - Yours, etc.,
RONAN FARREN,
Dartmouth Square,
Ranelagh,
