Sir, I normally look forward to and enjoy reading Kevin Myers's contribution to your paper, but I was very disappointed to read his article about the abandonment of the vasectomy services in Letterkenny General Hospital. His approach was flippant in general and his attack on Leo McAuley was quite uncalled for.
I do not agree with Leo McAuley's views on family planning, but he holds them sincerely and he is "a quite splendid consultant obstetrician" who is totally dedicated to his profession. He in no way deserves to be the target of Mr Myers's sarcastic wit. - Yours, etc.,
