Sir, - I share the concerns of Ms de Valera and Ms Harney about the growing influence of the EU on our daily lives. How dare the Continentals foist upon us ideas of: decent health and transport infrastructures; societies where culture is not a dirty word and dirty words are not the culture; streets which are free of teenage drunks and litter; drivers who can pass tests; elderly people who are respected by their juniors, etc?
We are fortunate indeed in having politicians who will protect us from such alien influences. - Yours, etc.,
