Madam, – The criminal gangs in Limerick have rightly been condemned for their viciousness and wickedness in their actions to support their drug dealing and other activities.
With this so well documented now, there can be no doubt in anybody’s mind about the impact of this illegal drug trade on society, nor any doubt that innocent people are being killed because of it. So the casual drug users who create the demand for the services of these gangs cannot claim innocence or lack of responsibility. They have blood on their hands too, though there is no obvious sign that they care. Perhaps stiffer sentences for those paying the gangs their wages may make them care more. With no demand, there is no supply. – Yours, etc,
