Daylight saving time
Sir, – The commercial arguments in dispensing with daylight saving changes are doubtful at the very least. Excluding Alaska and Hawaii, there are at least five continental time zones in the US, some of which use daylight saving time, and it doesn’t seem to affect their economies one way or the other.
More important are the social implications. Better to have bright mornings than bright evenings, especially for schoolchildren on their way to school in the depths of winter. – Yours, etc,
