Cycling In The Dark

Sir, - As this time of year means that more of us are travelling to and from work in the dark, here are a few rhetorical questions on the subject:

Why do a majority of cyclists put themselves and other roadusers at risk by having inadequate lighting, or no lighting at all?

Why do gardai not do something about this, simply by stationing themselves on any main road at any time after dusk? (If I see a dozen or so cyclists without lights every evening on my way home, they can too.)

Why do I bother even asking these questions? - Yours, etc.,
