Madam, - As director of the Dublin City University Masters in Theatre Studies, which is taught at St Patrick's, Drumcondra, may I add mine to the many more eloquent voices deploring the strange decision to close the acting degree course at TCD?
The graduates of the course include actors of the calibre of Derbhle Crotty, Padraic Delaney, Eileen Walsh and Brian F. Byrne, all world-class by any definition of that term, and living enhancements of Trinity's international academic reputation no less substantial than the many who have distinguished themelves in the college's more "conventional" university disciplines in the past. - Yours, etc,
