Sir. – Has anyone noticed the growing amount of second World War-themed films and documentaries being shown on British television lately? One was always sure of such “entertainment” in so-called normal times, but every day now appears to have a quota of Dunkirk/Battle of Britain/how to build your own Spitfire-type programming.
Even the dependable old BBC seems to have donned its Union Jack undies, spewing out stiff upper lips and dashing subalterns by the bucket load.
I wonder if it all has something to do with Brexit? – Yours, etc,
