Sir, - An opinion poll will either influence my decision on how or whether to vote, or it won't. If it won't, there is no reason to forbid me to see it.

If it will influence my decision, then Fianna Fβil and Fine Gael are conspiring to keep me ignorant in order to change the way I vote.

More hypocrisy: they will retain the right to conduct polls, the better to allow them to campaign, while they deny me the right to see such polls.

Will the ban on publication cover politicians saying, "Well, our private polling indicates that our candidate is doing very well, actually"? - Yours, etc.,
