Sir, - The Anti-Deportation Committee along with other groups took part in an anti-racist march of over 1,000 people on Saturday, April 25th. This march got practically no media coverage.

This is in stark contrast to the attention given to Aine Ni Chonaill and her tiny organisation the Immigration Control Platform and to the grossly misleading and often racist statements given out by the Government and other organisations and individuals. Last Saturday Ms O'Chonaill was on her own handing out racist leaflets.

John O'Donohue, in the recent debate on the Amnesty Bill, plucked figures out of the sky on the possible amount of refugees who would gain entry if an amnesty was given. His Minister for State, Mary Wallace, had the audacity to say that, "if the amnesty was granted there may be more refugees than travellers in Ireland". We are not sure who is more offended by this statement - refugees or travellers.

Mr O'Donohue, when in Opposition, seemed to be somebody who defended asylum-seekers and refugees, calling for, among other things, that they be allowed to work. He is showing his true credentials now. - Yours, etc.,
