Madam, - With the escalation of the gang warfare in Limerick by the use of a submachine gun, and the announcement by the Minister for Justice, Brian Lenihan, of the deployment of a "posse" of the Emergency Response Unit, surely it is time to augment this action by having the now infamous picture of the Minister for Defence and local sheriff Willie O'Dea "posing with his gun" on poster displays at every corner and crossroads in Limerick, as a deterrent to all criminal gunmen. - Yours, etc,
