Sir, - What a marvellous letter from John Robb and Jack McDowell, on behalf of the Executive Panel of the New Ireland Group (October 16th) Would that the leaders and those who are led on all sides of the Divide would read and reread it, ponder over it, even - if it's not too much to hope for? - pray over it. It's all there a peace manifesto, a formula for successful negotiation, a plea for "stature in bigness of heart."
Why not rerun it, give it a place of prominence in a future issue of the IT and highlight the sentence: ..... We could have a truly new and thoroughly re politicised Ireland within ten years?" - Yours etc.,
