Sir, – I have two students renting rooms in my house, and I have found it a rewarding experience, and not just in a financial way. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a room to spare in their home.

However, the €14,000 limit on rent received dates back to 2017, and costs, especially energy costs, have soared in recent years, which reduces the incentive value of the scheme. I hope that this limit will be revised upwards in the upcoming budget. – Yours, etc,
