Sir, – John Mulqueen in An Irishman’s Diary (April 25th) mentions that Garret FitzGerald once turned up wearing odd shoes. I seem to recall his wife later commenting that he also had an identical pair like that at home! Perhaps he should have been called “Garret the Goody Four Shoes”? – Yours, etc,
