In yesterday's editions, a report on An Taisce's objections to the National Development Plan referred in correctly throughout to Duchas, the heritage service which is part of the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands.

Michael Smith is chairman of An Taisce, not Duchas as stated. Duchas was also incorrectly referred to in the heading which should have read "An Taisce criticises national plan on environmental impact". And in some early editions, the page 1 digest also referred to criticism from Duchas instead of An Taisce.

In Saturday's obituary on Dame Ruth Railton, it was stated that in 1977 Patricia Kavanagh received the proceeds of the recital given by Rostropovich in St Patrick's Cathedral which enabled her to study in Germany and Taiwan. In fact Ms Kavanagh advises that she received no monies from the Rostropovich recital, which was in aid of the cathedral. And she did not study in Taiwan, where she was associate professor of piano at the National Academy of Liberal Arts and at Soochow University.
