The letter headed "The case for conifers" from Mr Charles Colthurst, chairman of the Irish Timber Growers' Association, in yesterday's editions contained a typographical error. It said "Forests occupy only 18 per cent of the Irish land area, the lowest in Europe". The figure should have read 8 per cent.
