A youth (15) was admitted to hospital last night after a 'paramilitary-style' shooting in Newry, Co Down.

A youth (15) was admitted to hospital last night after a 'paramilitary-style' shooting in Newry, Co Down.

The attack on the young man happened around 10.45 p.m. in the Parkgate Crescent area of the town. He was shot in both ankles.

Later, a boy was taken to hospital suffering from shock after a pipe-bomb attack on a house in Belfast.

Five other children were in bed when the bomb was thrown at their home in Lothair Avenue shortly after 11.30 p.m.

No one was physically injured in the attack.
