Moscow - President Yeltsin had little to celebrate on his 68th birthday yesterday, meeting aides at a Moscow sanatorium where the Kremlin says he is recuperating from a stomach ulcer as parliament pressed on with impeachment hearings.
The Prime Minister, Mr Yevgeny Primakov, was among the early callers on Mr Yeltsin, arriving with a birthday bouquet at the Barvikha compound outside Moscow along with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Alexis II, and Mr Yeltsin's chief-of-staff, Mr Nikolai Bordyuzha.
