Dublin’s Trinity College became a hub of world achievers today as a delegation from the International Achievement Summit took a guided tour of the historic university.
Traffic in the city centre was diverted for up to four hours as tight security was put in place around the college. With the streets cordoned off, up to 200 students and 60 VIPs including the former US president Mr Bill Clinton explored Trinity College uninterrupted.
Over 20 tour buses returned this evening to the Four Seasons Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin where the four-day simmit is being held.
Tonight delegates are attending a gala dinner where the Taoiseach called for leadership in the global economy.
The summit also saw the induction of Mr Bill Clinton and U2 singer, Bono, to the Washington-based Academy of Achievement's hall of fame at a Banquet of the Golden Plateon Thursday.
Every year the Academy brings together 60 people it believes to be the most accomplished across a range of fields, 400 hand-picked high school students and a number of corporate sponsors to discuss the most pressing matters of the day.
Among the personalities associated with the Academy are Jimmy Carter, Robert De Niro, Bill Gates, Michael Jordan, Larry King, Ralph Lauren, Maya Lin, Rosa Parks, Stephen Spielberg, Johnny Cash, and Amy Tan.
