A woman had part of her ear bitten off during assault by a gang of up to nine people in Belfast, the PSNI said today.

A woman had part of her ear bitten off during assault by a gang of up to nine people in Belfast, the PSNI said today.

The attack happened at about 5.30am in the Altnamona area of west Belfast and the 25-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment. She was with a female friend who was also attacked.
