Gardai in Co Cork are investigating the death of a young woman whose car plunged into Kinsale harbour yesterday morning. The woman's body was recovered from the water at 10.45 a.m., about an hour after the car she was driving went off the pier. The woman, who was from the locality, had not been named last night. Her body was taken to Kinsale Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Gardai said yesterday that they would not be naming the two Italian tourists killed in a road accident in Co Cork on Saturday at the request of their relatives. The two died after their motorcycle collided with a lorry at Castleredmond. The rider of the motorcycle, a 30-year-old man, was dead on arrival at Midleton Hospital. His pillion passenger, a 32-year-old woman, died later in University College Hospital, Cork. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

A 25-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving struck a wall at Port-na-Blath near Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, at about 3.40 a.m. yesterday.
