Woman critical after Dublin stabbing

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

Gardai said she suffered serious injuries to her upper body during the assault at around 3am at Lourdes Road, Dublin 8. She was taken to St James Hospital where her condition is critical.

Detectives are still trying to identify a motive and have appealed for anybody in the area of Ave Marie Road and Lourdes Road around the time of the incident and who may have witnessed anything to contact them at Kevin Street Garda Station.
