The Garda in Store Street have issued an appeal for witnesses to an alleged assault on Marlborough Street in Dublin at the weekend.
An incident was reported on Saturday evening at about 8.15.
A man in his forties remains in a critical but stable condition in Beaumont Hospital after suffering head injuries.
Gardaí are trying to contact a Dublin Bus employee who spoke to two female Gardaí on Marlborough Street at the time of the incident.
