Wimbledon will not take any action against their Republic of Ireland Under-21 defender Des Byrne after his conviction for possessing an offensive weapon until they have spoken to the player.
Byrne was acquitted of affray at Middlesex Guildhall Court yesterday for his part in the nightclub incident involving Chelsea's John Terry and Jody Morris.
But the 21-year-old was ordered to pay a Stg£2,000 fine and £1,000 costs after being found guilty of the second charge.
A statement from Wimbledon said: "The club welcomes the verdict of the jury in this case that all three players were not guilty of the charge of affray, but recognises the seriousness of Des Byrne's conviction.
"The club will now discuss this matter in private with Des and will make no further statement at this time."
Terry and Morris were both cleared of affray after an incident at a Knightsbridge club in January.
