The serious health alert over shellfish poisoning caused by bivalve shellfish, including mussels, oysters, clams and scallops harvested from Bannow Bay, Co Wexford, has been lifted.

The South Eastern Health Board has advised that follow-up testing and monitoring of Bannow Bay by the Department of the Marine has confirmed the shellfish was safe.
