Gardai in Mullingar are investigating a raid on a family home in which five legally-held weapons were taken.
Two masked men, one armed with a handgun, called at the home a few miles outside the town, late on Monday night. A man answered the door and struggled with the raiders, receiving slight injuries to the face. The robbers took three shotguns and two rifles.
